Used to VS would

Ecco un esempio di forma affermativa, negativa e interrogativa:

I used to walk to school when I was younger.

I didn’t use to walk to school when I was younger or I never used to walk to school...

Did you use to walk to school when you were younger?

Quando ci riferiamo ad azioni abituali del passato con VERBI DI MOVIMENTO possiamo usare:

Would+ BASE FORM

“I would walk to school when I was younger” corrisponde quindi a “I used to walk to school when I was younger”.

Quando used to e would NON sono intercambiabili?

Non possiamo usare would con i verbi di stato:

I used to have a Fiat Panda.    have = own – possession.

I used to understand French.
